Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Everything you need to randomize is free - Subscription, Patreon and Ko-fi support just help cover running costs, see the Transparency page for where that goes.

No. DBD Randomizer is a fan-made tool built by Faceplant Studios and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Behaviour Interactive.

Every roll is genuinely random, or at least as random as we can - nothing is weighted or rigged, so getting the same perk three times in a row is just probability doing its thing. If you want control, configs let you include or exclude specific killers, perks, add-ons and more before you roll.

We use a lot in order to make the randomness more, well, random. Such as using time based seed + random.org seed together on page load to seed the core random number generator and much more.

We only store what's needed to run your account (settings, saved configs, achievement/badge progress). See Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Yes, subscriptions are managed through PayPal and can be cancelled whenever you like. Your tier is removed immediately.

Ads (via Google AdSense / Publisher Collective) help cover hosting costs for non-subscribed users. Subscribers don't see them. See the Privacy Policy for how ad cookies work.

Yes, email us via Contact and we'll delete or anonymise your account, aside from anything we're legally required to keep. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Yes, if you're logged in your past rolls are kept in your randomization history, so you can look back or favourite ones you liked. How many pages of history you can keep depends on your subscription tier.

Yes, rolls can be shared with the same code you use to load it, either in the url or in the "Load Via Code" entry - send it to a friend and they'll see exactly what you got in the case of "ThisRando" or be able to use your config.

No, you can randomize without one. Creating an account lets you save configs, unlock achievements/badges, keep your settings between visits and much more.

Head to Contact or drop it in the Discord.

Subscribing removes ads and unlocks extra features on top of the free tier. It's entirely optional - the randomizer itself works the same either way.

Yes, there's a dedicated mobile site with the same core randomizing tools, tuned for smaller screens.

Yes, there's a built-in OBS system - randomize on the main site and show the result as an overlay on your stream. It's available to everyone; subscribing unlocks more frequent uses, custom layouts and removes the overlay branding.

We aim for within 48 hours of a chapter going live. Content is usually prepared from PTB data ahead of release, then double-checked against the live version, and we post an announcement once it's all in.

Straight into running costs - hosting, tooling, and time spent building new features. The Transparency page breaks down the costs and earnings in more detail.

The site itself is English only, but there's a Google Translate option in the site settings panel if you'd rather browse in another language.

Most of what's coming up gets posted on Patreon first these days, with the entry drafted shortly before it actually ships - the site's upcoming section isn't kept in sync with that yet. Tying the two together properly is on the list.
